Bio

After completing an 8 month co-op position at Health Canada as an Assistant Toxicologist, I was interested in expanding my knowledge of toxicology and developing good research skills. I began working here in September on my honours research project.

Research project

My research project is titled “The Cardiotoxicity of Mercuric Chloride using a Human Cardiomyocyte Cell Line Model.” The purpose of this study is to examine the cardiotoxic effects of mercuric chloride (HgCl2) using a human ventricular cardiomyocyte cell line, AC16. These results will be compared to those of methylmercury.
