- Echo360 is an online classroom management tool to which the University of Ottawa has subscribed, and your access is therefore free.
- Embedded in Echo360 is a classroom interaction tool called LectureTools, which we will be using for quizzes in the DGDs of MAT1320 this term.
- Once you have set up your account, you will not need to log on to Echo360 unless you cannot do the quiz by text message.
- If you already have an account (or don't know if you do), try logging in directly, at : https://echo360.org.uk/. You can enter your email
address and then click the "forgot password?" link. If you do have an account, you'll be all set; and if you don't, it will tell you.
- Otherwise: you will receive an email from Echo360 inviting you to become student for MAT1320. It looks a bit like this:
Check your spam folder!
- Follow the link which will let you CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT (if you do not already have one). Enter your name as it appears on your student card, and enter a cell phone number to be able to
answer the quizzes in the DGDs by texting. (If not, you can log on to do the quizzes, instead.) That page looks a bit like this:
- Once you have an account, you may be automatically logged in to the website for Echo360, which is https://echo360.org.uk/ and NOT at the address you might get from Google.
In particular, the USA version of this site (.com or .org without the .uk) is WRONG.
- If you have entered your cell phone number into your account, then to do the quiz, you only have to SMS your answer as instructed. You do not need to log on to
Echo360. In the quiz, you are given a phone number, and
you must enter a 3-letter code, followed by your answer.
- If you can't send your answer by SMS, then when the TA starts the quiz, log on to https://echo360.org.uk/, where in your
DASHBOARD you will see all courses of which you are a student.
- In the rectangle corresponding to MAT1320, click on the BLUE BUTTON that says ALL CLASSES.
- Scroll around to find the DGD with the CORRECT DATE and the CORRECT TIME.
- When the TA says to, click the button at the right end (that looks like a presentation symbol), to open the presentation.
- Follow along with the TA, and CLICK on the ANSWER, then CLICK the SUBMIT button.
- Advance slides using the arrow at the bottom of the screen.
- Leave by clicking the menu box in the upper left corner, or using the browser back arrow TWICE.
