Bio

I received my undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Ottawa in 2012. I completed another undergraduate degree in neuroscience from Carleton University in 2014. I have developed an interest in toxicology while taking a course on neurodevelopmental toxicity.

Research project

Exposure to environmental toxins is considered to be a risk factor for neurodegenerative disorders. The aim of my project is to determine oxidative stress and impairments in mitochondrial bioenergetics that could result in degeneration of dopamine neurons following methyl mercury exposure.
