Michael Power
Michael started a MSc
program at the University of Ottawa in September, 2011 after completing a BSc
Honours program at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St Johnfs
Currently, he is
working as Senior Scientist of Dillon Consulting in Halifax.
Michael has been
awarded a 2012 Society of Economic Geologists Graduate Students
Fellowship, a Research
Assistantship from Natural Resources of Canada for two years, a GAC-MAC travel
grant to attend the annual meeting in Winnipeg in 2013, and a travel grant to
SGA Meeting in Uppsala in August, 2013..

Michael project is
to examine the surficial dispersion of elements from deeply buried uranium
deposits. In September, we conducted a field work in the Wheeler River area
where the Phoenix deposit lies over 400 metres below the surface. Michael is very
active. He is engaged in gLetfs
Talk Scienceh and giving talks at local schools. He will be presenting the results at
Saskatoon in the end of November. |
