Infectious diseases

Some infectious diseases catch worldwide attention because they affect millions of people. Other may go almost unnoticed because they occur in wildlife and have almost no implications for humans. In all cases, they create an additional layer of complexity for individual interaction. How can we predict the spread of a disease?
