- Molecular catalysis, chemical hydrogen storage, surface-supported catalysts, polyalcohol conversion, metal organofluorine chemistry
Research Interests:
- Baker's focus is on application of catalysis science to development of efficient energy applications. Collaborative projects include amine-boranes for chemical hydrogen storage, metal-catalyzed lignocellulose disassembly and surface-supported molecular complexes for tandem catalysis. Studies in fundamental transition metal organofluorine chemistry look at 'greener' methods for preparing technologically valuable fluorochemicals and -polymers.
