Ottawa, October 31-November 1
Friday evening gathering: There is no official reception, but we propose to meet for drinks around 8pm in the pub Sir John A , on the corner of Elgin and MacLaren. (This is just across from the Business Inn where several participants are staying.) This establishment has a decent list of local brews; it also serves food, although those looking to have dinner somewhere in that area can do better by walking down Elgin one or two blocks to Town, Oz Kafe or El Camino.
Description: Octoberfest is an annual meeting with an emphasis on category theory, logic and related areas.
Venue: The meeting will take place in DMS 1110 (Desmarais Building). A map with directions can be found here:
Call for Participation: anyone interested in attending or contributing a talk is kindly requested to notify the organizers. Graduate students and early career researchers are particularly encouraged to give a talk.
Registration: Registration will take place on site. The registration fee will be $40 (Canadian) per person, to be paid in cash. We have a modest amount of funding available to support graduate students. Please apply before October 15 with a letter of support from your supervisor if you wish to be considered for financial support.
Housing: We have reserved a block of rooms in the Business Inn, which is located a 10-minute walk from the university. This hotel has spacious rooms and has several dining options and coffee shops nearby.
