
The Ottawa Mathematics Conference will be held May 16-17, 2009 at the University of Ottawa. This event is a 2-day student-organized conference whose purpose is to provide a venue for local graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and undergraduate summer researchers to showcase their original research in all areas of mathematics in a 20-25 minute presentation. There will also be two invited speakers from Ottawa universities.
This year marks the second Ottawa Mathematics Conference. Information on last year's conference, held in May 2008, can be found at http://www.mathstat.uottawa.ca/~aburg018/omc.html.
There is no registration fee. Interested graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and undergraduate student researchers in any area of mathematics should register by emailing Maryam Haghighi at mhagh051@uottawa.ca by April 27, 2009. Please include the following information in your email:

Please note that travel and accommodation subsidies will not be provided for participants coming from outside of Ottawa; however, out-of-town presenters and participants are most welcome.
A complimentary lunch will be provided on Saturday, May 16.
The conference will feature talks by graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and undergraduate student researchers on their original research. All talks should be 20-25 minutes in length.
Participants who would like to give a talk must submit a preliminary title and abstract to mhagh051@uottawa.ca by Monday, April 27, 2009. A final abstract will be due Friday, May 8. Abstracts may be submitted as plain text in your email, or may be submitted in tex or pdf format.
