The Ottawa Mathematics Conference is a 2 day student-organized conference to be held May 1–2, 2008 at the University of Ottawa. Its purpose is to provide a venue for local graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and undergraduate summer researchers to showcase their original research in all areas of mathematics in a 20-25 minute presentation. There will also be two invited speakers from local Ottawa universities.
The conference will feature talks by graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and undergraduate student researchers on their original research. All talks should be 20-25 minutes in length.
Registration is now closed. Confirmed speakers only should send final title and abstract to sgoss053@uottawa.ca by Thursday, April 17.
Dr. Monica Nevins, University of Ottawa. Title: Representation theory and applications. Abstract
Dr. Brett Stevens, Carleton University. Title: Locating and avoiding errors in software testing. Abstract
Registration and breaks will be held in FTX (Fauteux Hall), room 136 (map). Talks will be held in FTX 135 (Room A) and FTX 136 (Room B).
